Art Always Imitating Life

On October 8, 2012 by creativewavemovement

I recently embarked upon one of my solo-dolo explorative adventures- something I highly recommend as an artist and writer that finds value in creating time to yourself. As I fell in love -all over again- with the land where the healing waters meet the shore, I took time to enter into my creative zone for further breathing space and artistic discovery.

Protect and encourage your ability to create with some time to yourself.

So, what did I do? I wrote, I painted…I breathed-in deeply, understanding where I am and where I need to go:

…as an artist and as a writer… AS A CREATIVE MIND… this is essential for our growth. We owe it to ourselves to, respectfully, bow out of the public eye for a bit, commit to moments of solitude and reflection for the health of our craft and mind.

Many times, our ability to ‘get away’ on our own, increases our awareness of self, intensifying our ability to create with clarity; for we know, that if this particular artistic gift is a part of our being, that very thing shall be clarified and refined in conjunction with our ability to clear the mind.

Art…. beautifully imitated life this past week for me… as I stepped into a zone of clarity, refined my stroke of the paintbrush and messages that flow from my life, myself and dance between a pad of paper and any writing tool that I can get my hands on.

Clear the mind and the clutter to create: it is essential for our progression as artists.
